Most healthcare organizations are familiar with the major HIPAA standards since its inception in 1996, however, as rules are added in or amended, organizations must follow suit to comply. The new HIPAA Common Rule was published in 2018 and will go into effect in 2019, so what does this mean for GCs, and what steps can they take to ensure compliance with this new rule? In this session, we will discuss the most critical issues in the HIPAA update and best practices for enforcing privacy & security standards in your company.
