Gina Beredo

Executive VP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary
Owens Corning

Gina Beredo serves as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, of Owens Corning (NYSE: OC). She is responsible for overseeing global legal operations, government affairs, and corporate affairs.

Prior to joining OC, Ms. Beredo served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq: NDSN), a global designer and manufacturer of dispensing equipment for consumer and industrial adhesives, sealants, and coatings. At Nordson, Ms. Beredo oversaw the company’s legal function in global mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, ethics and compliance, litigation, and other general corporate legal matters.

Prior to joining Nordson in 2013, Ms. Beredo served as Chief Litigation Counsel and Director of Compliance & Ethics at American Greetings Corporation (previously, NYSE: AM). Prior to being named General Counsel in January 2018, she served as the Deputy General Counsel. Ms. Beredo began her legal career as a litigation associate at BakerHostetler LLP.

Ms. Beredo earned a B.A. in history from Saint Louis University, cum laude, and a J.D. from the University of Indiana Maurer School of Law – Bloomington.

Susan Bergethon

Senior Vice President & General Counsel

As Chief Counsel, Consumer Products at Georgia-Pacific, Susan Bergethon manages legal matters for some of the company’s most recognizable brands, including Dixie?, Vanity Fair?, Angel Soft?, Quilted Northern?, Sparkle?, and Brawny?. Her practice includes advising stakeholders on marketing and advertising claims, commercial contracts, product regulatory, safety and quality issues, and compliance matters. Susan has spent most of her career as in-house counsel supporting public and private companies of varying sizes – from Fortune 10 to family-owned businesses.

Susan received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.B.A., summa cum laude, in International Business from the University of Georgia’s Honors Program.

Susan resides in Atlanta and is an active member of the community, currently serving on the Board of Directors of STE(A)M Truck, a not-for-profit focused on closing opportunity gaps in education by providing access to STEAM-based experiences in communities where they do not currently exist, and as a member of the Board of Councilors of American Jewish Committee (AJC) Atlanta.

Dr. Sandy Kuzmich

Dr. Kuzmich serves as the co-chair of the firm’s Life Sciences practice group. Her practice focuses on patent litigation and strategic intellectual property counseling in the areas of pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and biotechnology. Recognizing that product life-cycle management is continuous and dynamic, she develops, manages, and protects diverse patent portfolios, taking into consideration a client’s immediate and long-term business objectives.

Her extensive experience in pharmaceutical patent litigation allows her to offer a distinctive approach to protecting and maximizing the value of intellectual property assets. She specializes in counseling clients on how to obtain strong and diverse intellectual property protection on pharmaceuticals and biological products during early research, and how to expand and defend that protection throughout development, product launch, and beyond.

Upon completion of her graduate degree in pharmacology, Dr. Kuzmich became a post-doctoral research associate with the Fox Chase Cancer Center where she investigated mechanisms of anti-cancer drug resistance. She spent several years in the private pharmaceutical sector, managing departments in the U.S. in the areas of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, and also collaborating with Asian and European counterparts to coordinate worldwide regulatory submissions.

Dr. Kuzmich serves on the Board of Directors for the Federal Circuit Bar Association, which includes being a frequent lecturer at various international conferences throughout the year.
